Gunnison County, CO Government Gunnison County is located on Colorado's Western Slope; the County was created on March 9, 1877 and was named for John Williams Gunnison.

WINDS: 20-30 mph SW winds
RELATIVE HUMIDITY: 12-17%

Elevated fire danger is expected - fires will catch AND spread rapidly and erratically.

Reminder: Open burning is not permitted 🚫 during a Red Flag Warning.

If you've driven some of Gunnison County's gravel roads, you know exactly what we're talking about.

Washboards don't just happen – they're a result of heavy use, weather, and rising maintenance costs. One of the tools we use to reduce them is magnesium chloride, but the cost of treating roads has increased dramatically in recent years.
