Great news!

Last month Met Rec awarded $30,000 in funding for recreation projects and programs throughout the area. Funding supported senior-friendly trail development, school sports teams and community access to recreation.

One exciting project is the Gunnison County-Library's new Loop Trail, which will connect the newly constructed public library, an early childhood outdoor adventure play area, a park and tennis courts, and an existing recreational path way!

To most Gunnison Valley residents, winter outdoor recreation means one thing: skiing. But skiing itself takes as many different forms as there are individuals who engage in it.

In 2019, Met Rec and its recreation partners convened to brainstorm how best to connect more residents to safe, outdoor winter recreation opportunities. Together, ideas for new and enhanced winter recreation programs were devised and put into action.

To most Gunnison Valley residents, winter outdoor recreation means one thing: skiing. But skiing itself takes as many different forms as there are individuals who engage in it.
