🏐 Gunter Middle School Student Council in Action! 🏐

Our Student Council recently hosted an exciting volleyball tournament for GMS students, and it was a huge success! From friendly competition to incredible teamwork, students had a blast showing off their skills and cheering each other on.

Events like these are a great example of the leadership, creativity, and school spirit our Student Council brings to campus. We’re proud of the hard work they put into planning such a fun and engaging opportunity for their peers! Especially Ms. King and Coach Guice who have led the group as sponsors this school year!

Attention ALL CURRENT 5th and 6th grade students don't miss this great opportunity! The Gunter Band will be having a Band Instrument Selection Day on May 2, 2026! ALL 5th and 6th grade students are invited to attend!

During this time, students will have the opportunity to try out different instruments and receive guidance from our team. The process should take about 20-30 minutes.

Special note about instrument Selection Day: We will do our best to keep things moving smoothly and on time, but delays can occur due to the number of students we will see that day. We appreciate your patience and understanding!

An adult must attend this meeting with the student, and all students taking band next year must meet with a Band Director to be placed on an instrument. If you have an unavoidable conflict with this date, please email [email protected].

Mr. Talbot Bio,

Mr. Talbot is the Assistant Band Director at Gunter ISD, where he works with the middle school and high school band program. Originally from the North Texas area, he is committed to fostering a strong musical foundation and a lifelong appreciation for music in his students. Mr. Talbot holds both a Master of Music Education and a Bachelor of Music Education, having studied at the University of Maine and the University of North Texas.
