We have yet another round of severe weather slated for our area again today. Storms are expected to begin in Nebraska and Southwest Iowa before organizing into a line and pushing east across the state.

All severe hazards are in play, with isolated instances of very large hail possible in Southwest Iowa. Once storms form into a line, tornadoes and damaging gusts are the main hazards. Large hail up to 1.5" in diameter is still possible.

Timing for the storms is still subject to change due to lingering showers this morning. As of right now, the earliest expected start time is 5pm, with the most likely start time before 8pm.

We will have a mid-day briefing with the NWS office so check back this afternoon for updates and maybe a better defined timing. Now is the time to take action and be prepared for the incoming weather.

An Enhanced Risk (Level 3 of 5) of severe weather has now shifted over all of Guthrie and part of Adair County. Storms will start pushing into western Iowa between 8 and 9PM and probably closer to 11PM in our area.

All hazards are possible with this system. Models are trending to show more of damaging wind and hail threat for Adair and Guthrie, although a few tornadoes can not be ruled out. With the highest tornado risk being in western Iowa, should this happen to our west, we will need to monitor the tornadoes to see if hold together as they approach our area.
