Happy Birthday Doc!

Please join us in wishing Doctor Worden a very happy birthday. Doc is an extremely intricate part of Woodcrest Fire as our medical director. He and his team at Heartland Medical Direction have been a true example of what teaching and training should be for EMS. The involvement Doc has and the hands-on approach is something rarely seen from a medical director. Because he is so involved, we know he sacrifices a lot of time from home and his family.

International Firefighters Day!

I personally want to show my appreciation to my firefighters and officers of WCFD. Often times they don’t hear it enough from me, but I’m very proud of the time and work they put in serving our community. If you see or know a firefighter, take a moment to thank them for what they do. Career or Volunteer, makes no difference. They don’t need the title of “hero”. Give them a hug, shake their hand, send them a text or give them a call. Just let them know you support them because they support you.

Tonight, our hearts are with the LeFlore County Sheriff's Office Oklahoma, Wister Police Department, the families affected, and every first responder who stepped into harm’s way. Incidents like this shake entire communities, and they weigh heavily on the men and women who answer the call without hesitation.

We stand with you. We honor your courage.
And we support every dispatcher, deputy, officer, firefighter, medic, and responder who carried a piece of this incident with them.
