It’s about being part of a community that looks out for one another, shows up when it matters, and reminds us every single day why the work we do is so important. ⚠️ SCAM ALERT FOR LOCAL BUSINESSES ⚠️

The Guymon Police Department is warning local business owners to be on the lookout for scammers posing as law enforcement officers, government officials, or other authorities.

Scammers may call and claim that you owe money for fines, missed paperwork, licenses, or other official matters. They often pressure victims to send money immediately using gift cards, wire transfers, cryptocurrency, or payment apps. Some may even “spoof” phone numbers to make it appear the call is coming from a legitimate agency.

Remember:
• Legitimate law enforcement agencies will never demand immediate payment over the phone.
• Never send money, gift card numbers, or cryptocurrency to someone who contacts you unexpectedly.
• Don’t let anyone pressure you into making a quick decision.
• If you’re unsure whether a call is legitimate, hang up and contact the agency directly using a trusted phone number.

If you receive a suspicious call or believe you’ve been targeted by a scam, please contact the Guymon Police Department. Sharing this information can help protect our local businesses and community from becoming victims.
