During the freezing weather event of last week we experienced great difficulty keeping up with the water demand from freeze protection and a local house fire while we were also experiencing a problem with our main wellsite. The Hackberry Waterworks would like to THANK the Johnson Bayou Waterworks for assisting Hackberry to supply water to our residents so our town would not be out of water for those two days. We greatly appreciate our partnership with District 10 and look forward to being able to return the favor if ever there is a need. If you see the District 10 staff or board members around town, please let them know we appreciate their hard work.

All Hackberry Residents:
PLEASE turn off all freeze protection. Now that everything is thawing out today, houses/camps that have leaks are draining the system. Our water operators are doing their best, but the well sites are not able to keep up. Help us to help you by turning all dripping faucets off in order to avoid the system being shut off completely.

The Waterworks would like to express how much we rely on the home owners and business owners of Hackberry to conserve water during the upcoming freezing weather event. Please only run your faucet at a drip for freeze protection. Running faucets or hoses wide open put a tremendous strain on the water supply making it difficult for our system to keep up with the demand. Our water operators will be doing their best during this difficult time. Please help us conserve so that everyone will have water during the freeze.
