The Bergen County Sheriff, Anthony Cureton, was honored to join the members of El–Zahra Islamic Center in Midland Park for their interfaith Iftar dinner. It was a meaningful evening of learning about Ramadan, listening to beautiful recitations and songs from the congregation’s children, and sharing a meal together.

The Sheriff was grateful to celebrate this special tradition alongside Mayor Harry Shortway, council members, local police leadership, Miss Ludi Hughes representing Bergen County Executive James Tedesco, county commissioners Germaine Ortiz and Dr. Joanne Voss, and officials from the Newark FBI Office.

Community connection and understanding are at the heart of public service. Breaking fast and breaking bread together reminds us of the strength in unity and respect across faiths.

🚨 Snow-Covered Vehicles = Safety Hazard 🚨

Driving with snow and ice on your vehicle is not just careless, it’s dangerous and inconsiderate to others on the road. Snow that flies off moving vehicles can obstruct visibility and cause serious crashes.

Our Patrol and Traffic Safety Units will be actively enforcing these violations and issuing summonses where appropriate.

❄️ Take a few extra minutes.
🚗 Completely clear snow and ice from your windows, roof, hood, trunk, and lights.
👮 Protect yourself and everyone else on the roadway.

Let’s work together to keep Bergen County safe.
