This week we welcomed our 5th grade scholars & their families to Hackensack Middle School! Special shout out to the orientation committee leaders, Mr. Allen & Ms. Shabazz!

We even had a special visit by our mascot, Halley’s Comet! ☄️

We need your help! 💙💛 The HMS Back-to-School Jam on August 22 is coming up, and the HMS PTA is looking for volunteers to help make the event a success.

You don't have to volunteer for the entire event! Whether you can give 30 minutes, one hour, or a few hours, every bit of help makes a difference.

Volunteers can assist with setup, welcoming families, the PTA membership table, activities, cleanup, and other areas where an extra set of hands is needed.

Hackensack Middle School Presents: 5th Grade Orientation | La Escuela Intermedia Hackensack a Presenta: Orientación para Estudiantes de 5.º Grado

During this orientation session, incoming 5th grade students will have the opportunity to connect with their peers through team-building activities and social-emotional learning experiences. Students will participate in a guided tour of the building, meet members of the 5th grade teaching team and administration, learn how to navigate their class schedules, and practice important middle school routines, including opening and using their lockers.

Welcome to Our 5th Grade Orientation Family Information Session!

We are excited to welcome you and your child to Hackensack Middle School! This orientation is designed to provide families with important information about the upcoming school year, including school expectations, programs, schedules, and ways to support your child’s successful transition to middle school.

Date: Wednesday, August 19th
Time: 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Location: 360 Union Street, Hackensack

This orientation is designed for families and guardians. During the event, families will receive important information about Hackensack Middle School & have the opportunity to participate in a guided tour of the building.

Students will attend their own orientation on August 20th or August 21st. Please refer to the Student Orientation Flyer to sign up for one of the available sessions.
