We’ve had many people ask about the storm shelter and the potential for severe weather tonight.

At this time, our officers in town are actively monitoring the weather conditions.

If conditions worsen they will open the shelter, and we will provide updates as quickly as possible if that happens. We encourage everyone to stay weather aware and have a plan in place.
As always, if you have an emergency, call 911.

Stay safe, Hackett.

The thin black band stretched across a badge is more than a symbol — it’s a promise.

In law enforcement, we wear the mourning band to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice. It serves as a constant reminder that behind every badge is a life dedicated to service, a family that shares that sacrifice, and a brother or sister who will never be forgotten.

When an officer falls, departments across the country don the mourning band as a sign of unity. It doesn’t matter the patch you wear — in those moments, we all stand together.

The band represents respect.
It represents loss.
It represents commitment.

And above all, it represents that we will carry their legacy forward — in how we serve, how we protect, and how we look out for one another.

We don’t wear it lightly.
We wear it so they are never forgotten.

The LeFlore County Sheriff's Office is in our thoughts and prayers following the tragic loss of one of their deputies who was shot and killed yesterday. There are no words that can truly ease the pain of losing a brother or sister in the line of duty, but we stand with them during this incredibly difficult time.

We also ask that you keep the injured officer who was also shot with the Wister Police Department in your prayers as they recover.

From all of us at the Hackett Police Department, we stand with our fellow agencies, their families, and their communities.

We extend our deepest condolences!

🚨 SCAM ALERT – FRAUDULENT COURT TEXT MESSAGES 🚨

The Hackett Police Department has been made aware of scam text messages claiming to be from an “Arkansas Superior Court” regarding unpaid traffic fines.

These messages may:
• Claim you have an outstanding citation
• Threaten license suspension, extra fees, or arrest
• Provide a suspicious link and demand immediate payment
• Ask you to reply to confirm receipt

⚠️ THIS IS A SCAM.

Arkansas courts do NOT send text messages demanding payment or threatening enforcement actions in this manner.

And just to be clear — if you are truly wanted by law enforcement, we are not going to call or text you about it… we will show up at your front door.

Please remember:
• Do NOT click any links
• Do NOT provide personal or financial information
• Do NOT respond to the message

If you receive one of these messages:
✔️ Delete it immediately
✔️ Report it as junk/spam
✔️ If you’re unsure about a citation, contact the court directly using an official phone number

Help us spread the word and keep our community protected.

🚨 SCAM ALERT – PLEASE READ & SHARE 🚨

We’ve received reports of scammers using the names of local deputies and law enforcement officers to try and trick citizens out of money.

These callers may:
• Claim to be a deputy or investigator
• Say you have a warrant or missed jury duty
• Demand payment over the phone (gift cards, Cash App, etc.)
• Use real names to sound legitimate

⚠️ LET US BE CLEAR:
Law enforcement will NEVER call you and demand payment over the phone or ask for gift cards to avoid arrest.

If you receive a call like this:
❌ Do NOT send money
❌ Do NOT give out personal information
✅ Hang up immediately
✅ Call your local police department directly to verify

These scammers rely on fear and urgency. Don’t let them win.

Help us spread the word and protect our community. Share this post so others don’t fall victim.

👮‍♂️ When in doubt, call us — not them.
