Town of Hackettstown residents ONLY can bring accepted household items to the Miller Street Fire House (101 Miller Street) during the Fall Clean Up. Items will not be collected curbside.

The Warren County Mosquito Control Commission is planning a treatment for adult mosquito control in portions of Hackettstown.

πŸ“ HACKETTSTOWN: Jay Court, Seymour Terrace, Mitchell Road, Shelley Drive and Mountain Avenue

The application will be made with a truck-mounted ultra-low volume sprayer. The truck is well marked as a mosquito commission vehicle. The application will be made as close to sunset as possible to increase its contact with actively flying mosquitoes.

Spraying for adult mosquitoes is done on a limited and very localized basis to protect the public health from mosquito-borne illnesses.

🚧 MADISON STREET IMPROVEMENTS UPDATE 🚧

The Town of Hackettstown, through its contractor, Top Line Construction Corporation (β€œTop Line”), will continue work on the NJDOT FY2024 & FY2025 Madison Street Improvements Project, Phases I & II, on or about Monday, August 31, 2026. The paving work is anticipated to be completed by Friday, September 4, 2026.

At this time, the curb, curb ramp and sidewalk work has been completed. The contractor will begin milling and paving the full length of Madison Street, starting at Warren Street and working toward Valentine Street.

* IMPACTS...Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.

- Showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop by mid-day Thursday. Some of these showers and thunderstorms are expected to produce very heavy rainfall. Rainfall totals of 1-2 inches of rain can be expected with localized amounts of 3-5 inches possible in the strongest storms. The Hackettstown Historical Society is bringing back its presentation series! πŸ“š Join them Tuesday, Sept. 1, for a presentation on the Hessians and their role during the Revolutionary War.

Welcome back! As we start the Fall Season, it's time for the restart of our Presentations!

Everyone please join us on Tuesday Sept. 1st, 2026 at 7:00pm at the American Legion Hall, 494 Willow Grove St,. Hackettstown, where Dr. Peter Lubrecht will enlighten us on the Hessians, professional German Soldiers hired by the British Army during the Revolutionary War. Dr. Lubrecht will show us the details, including the facts and fictions of their service for the British/Loyalist cause.

As always, the programs are free for members, and we request a nominal $5 donation for non-members, in order to help continue to bring these speakers to you. Refreshments are free, and we will have the doors open at 6;30pm for those who wish to meet and talk with any of our Officers or Board Members, or would like to sign up for membership.

Also, our apologies on the quality of the flyer, and the unusual lateness of this posting. There have been a number of technical issues that needed to be worked out. Our Instagram page should be up soon also, and we'll post when it's fully functional.
