✨ NEW CLOTHING DONATION SHED!

We’re excited to share our new Used Clothing Drop-Off shed, made available through Haddam Social Services in partnership with St. Pauly Textile, Inc.! 💛

Our clothing donation shed provides a convenient way for our community to give gently used items that can help others while supporting textile reuse.

👕 Please donate ONLY:
• Clothing
• Shoes
• Belts
• Purses
• Blankets
• Sheets
• Curtains
• Pillowcases
• Stuffed animals

📦 Please place donations in securely tied bags.

🚫 Please do NOT leave unwanted items such as furniture, electronics, books, household items, toys, garbage, pillows, rags, fabric scraps, or other non-approved materials.

These unwanted items can instead be brought to the Swap Shed or the donation bin at the Transfer Station. ♻️

We’re grateful to everyone who helps keep our community clean, supports reuse, and makes a difference through donating items that are still useful. ❤️

Hi everyone,
We wanted to share an update that Baystate Textiles has discontinued service to Social Services. This change means we are adjusting how items are collected for the Community Closet, and we appreciate your patience as we move forward.
Service will resume with a new company on August 24, and they are in support of the work we do for our community. In the meantime, please donate only clothing items intended for the Community Closet at Social Services.
Sorted bags may be placed in the black bin, which is currently outside temporarily in good weather, or left outside the Community Closet door located at the back of the building. We are able to accept clothing, shoes, belts, purses, stuffed animals and blankets. Moving forward, we are unable to accept rags, pillows, fabric scraps, household items, and electronics.

🎒📚 Back-to-School Support for HK Families! 🎨✨

We want to make sure ALL Haddam-Killingworth students start the school year with the tools they need to succeed!

If your family could use a little extra support, Youth & Family Services of Haddam-Killingworth is currently accepting applications for FREE backpacks and school supplies for students of all ages.

📝 Applications are open through August 11, 2026.

🎉 Then, join us to make your backpack your own!

Once you've received your backpack, bring it to our Decorate Your New Backpack! event:

Students entering K–8 can personalize their backpacks with patches, pins, beads, charms, pom-poms, ribbons, fabric markers, stickers, and more—all supplies are provided! Come celebrate America’s 250th Birthday with an evening of incredible music at the 6th Annual U.S. Coast Guard Band Concert, hosted by the Killingworth and Haddam Lions.

🚙 Golf cart transportation will also be available at the event to assist anyone needing help getting around the grounds.

On Sunday, August 2, we’re coming together to celebrate Jacob’s 3rd birthday with a special birthday car parade. As many of you know, Jacob is courageously battling cancer, and we’d love to surround him with the joy, love, and support of our amazing community.
