Great news! Looking forward to getting this and our other Higganum projects started and completed!!
I'm pleased to share that the Town of Haddam has been awarded $864,760 for Village North Pedestrian Linkages. The project will construct a sidewalk/multi-use trail linking 36 units of approved & financed affordable senior housing, the resident trooper’s office, town offices, & the Senior & Community Center to commercial uses in the Village Center along approximately three-quarters of a mile of Saybrook Road (Route 154). It will connect the north & south commercial districts & provide a fully ADA-compliant trail, allowing visitors & residents to safely & conveniently access the sidewalk network & commercial district.
The funding comes from the Connecticut Department of Transportation's Transportation Rural Improvement Program (TRIP), which is designed to support the state’s rural communities, often ineligible for many federal transportation programs.
This project is one of nine across the state in this third round of funding. Since TRIP's inception in 2022, approximately $30 million has been awarded to 27 projects.
