This page was created to show transparency to the taxpayers of Haddon Heights, New Jersey.
I was fired from my groundskeeper position because I was a victim of workplace hostility and anti American sentiment within the workplace. As a proud Navy Veteran, I reported these incidents to Mr. David Binder. He chose to ignore my pleas for assistance in the matter. I was also verbally and physically threatened, but I loved my job, so I walked away. Again, this was reported to Mr. David Binder and again he chose to do nothing. When I got this job a year ago, I was blessed and grateful for this opportunity. I wanted to be the greatest groundskeeper that Haddon Heights ever had and I let everyone know that. I've had an extensive career in the landscaping and lawn care industry. I was hired because of my experience. In the interview process, I advised Carla Bittner, Superintendent, that if given the opportunity, the taxpayers will get their money's worth out of me. In which over the last year, they certainly did. I've worked tirelessly and working through lunches when need be.
So why was I fired for doing such a great job?
I violated the social media policy, exposing their gross negligence and abuse of their positions of authority within the school district.
I brought these issues to them and they did absolutely NOTHING!!! Pathetic!
You would think that hard work was appreciated these days? I know many throughout town who appreciated my efforts.
The taxpayers pay the salaries of those within the school district and they should know all the details. This is just the beginning. I'm going to be at the next school board meeting to share my thoughts with the board. It's disgusting and disheartening to see a lack of real leadership.
When I told Carla Bittner that I felt like a used pawn in her Memorial Day tribute ceremony, her response was,
"Nobody forced you to sit there."
The lack of respect is unreal.
