When a mom is talking to her friend for a minute, and her child decides to take off his shoes and run through the dirt. You don't have to come up to her and tell her that everyone was worried because he was alone and without shoes.⁣⁣

That doesn’t help.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
𝘋𝘰𝘯’𝘵 𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘮𝘦 𝘢 𝘮𝘰𝘮.⁣⁣

When a mom is trying to calm her toddler on the mall floor flailing his legs and screaming, you don't have to give her weird looks and shake your head.⁣⁣

That doesn’t help.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
𝘋𝘰𝘯’𝘵 𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘮𝘦 𝘢 𝘮𝘰𝘮.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
When a mom is feeding her baby a bottle, you don’t have to come up to her and tell her all the benefits of breastfeeding.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
That doesn’t help.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Because that mom is doing her best.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Maybe the mom with the child with dirty feet has been struggling all day with her son’s behavior and needed a second to vent.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Maybe the mom with a toddler having a tantrum over not getting a toy is just standing her ground.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Maybe the mom who's formula feeding couldn’t produce enough milk and is suffering from postpartum depression.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Realize that so many factors go into someone's decision-making process, and it's natural for different things to work for different people.⁣⁣
⁣
And if you shame a mom,⁣⁣
it WILL keep her awake all night.⁣⁣
Your voice echoing in her head,⁣⁣
forcing her to question whether she’s doing a good enough job as a mom.⁣⁣
⁣
And she has enough on her plate.⁣⁣
⁣
So 𝘥𝘰𝘯’𝘵 𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘮𝘦 𝘢 𝘮𝘰𝘮.⁣

Located at 3512 Pennsylvania Avenue, Resolution Advocates, LLC is a women owned business in Washington County that filled an identified service gap for families in the community. Some of the services provided include supervised and monitored visitation by trained professionals, parent coaching, co-parenting counseling, and a six week parenting seminar for parents that are separating or are involved in custody disputes. The owners, Cindy Clingan, Jamie Mathewson, and Elizabeth Scallion, have worked with children and families in Washington County for many years and are excited to continue to work with them in this new capacity!

Jamie Mathewson was recently honored with being named Social Worker of the Year by the Washington County Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers - MD. Jamie provides counseling, supervised visitations/transfers, co-parenting planning, and mediation. CONGRATULATIONS TO JAMIE!!
