Thank you to the participants and spectators of the 2026 High Rock Mountain Running Challenge at Pen Mar Park for an unforgettable day of mountain running, community spirit, and celebration. Your energy and enthusiasm made the event truly special, and we hope you enjoyed every step—from the scenic climb to the summit views and all the festivities that followed.

Congratulations to our Queen of the Mountain, Caroline Philp, and our King of the Mountain, Tony Clement, for reaching the top first in their categories! Applause as well to all our Age Group winners for their outstanding grit and speed. You are all champions in our eyes. Thank you for making the High Rock Mountain Running Challenge a highlight of Everybody’s Day and Washington County’s 250th Birthday Bash—we hope to see you next year!

Teams of men and women, 18 years and older will be given a 8-week schedule. This league will play at HCC ARCC. Spots are limited and teams will be accepted on a first-come-first serve basis. We will keep standings and will have playoffs.

Show off your speed during our Lemonade Drinking Contest at Everybody's Day. We will have up to 20 contestants: first come first serve (Age 16+). 4 separate heats of 5 contestants. Fastest to finish the half gallon of lemonade will take home 1st place! Starts at 2:30PM

Washington County Parks & Recreation is notifying visitors of temporary changes to the pedestrian walkway near Pavilion 2 at Martin L. “Marty” Snook Park due to construction of the park’s new playground.

During construction, the affected section of the walkway will be restricted to pedestrians only. Bicycles, scooters, mobility devices, and other wheeled equipment will not be permitted on this portion of the walkway.

Additionally, a section of the walkway will temporarily have stone placed across it as part of the construction process. This may create uneven terrain and navigation challenges for pedestrians.

Visitors are encouraged to use and enjoy other sections of the park’s walkway system during this time.

Washington County Parks & Recreation appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation as construction of the new playground moves forward. Visitors are reminded to use caution near the construction area and follow posted signage and any temporary restrictions.
