Last week, Bester Community of Hope welcomed residents, community partners, and stakeholders to our Community Advisory Board meeting. These quarterly meetings provide an opportunity to share updates on current programs and initiatives, gather valuable feedback from the community, explore partnership opportunities, and learn about the services and resources being offered by organizations throughout our area.

We are grateful for everyone who took the time to join us because working together helps us build stronger connections and create meaningful impact in the South End community.

Last week, members of the Bester Community of Hope team joined ENOUGH partners from across Maryland at the ENOUGH Learning Convening in Cambridge.

The convening brought together community quarterbacks, implementation partners, state leaders, and technical assistance providers for a day of learning, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing focused on advancing place-based solutions that improve outcomes for children and families.

We were especially grateful for the opportunity to bring two members of our Community Schools team as we continue strengthening the cradle-to-career pipeline in our community. Throughout the day, we explored strategies for building momentum, strengthening accountability, breaking down silos, and aligning community partners around shared goals. The convening reinforced the importance of creating alignment across organizations and systems, a reminder that "Alignment creates momentum. Momentum attracts partners, and partners attract resources." That idea is at the heart of the work happening through ENOUGH as communities come together to leverage collective strengths and create lasting opportunities for children and families.

On Saturday, May 16, families from across the community gathered at the EM Tobias Family Center for Bester Community of Hope’s annual Family Day celebration. This year’s Hollywood-themed event, “You […]
