Teen dating violence is more common than many people realize—and it can happen in person, online, or through technology.

Among high school students who dated in the previous year, about 1 in 12 experienced physical dating violence and about 1 in 10 experienced s*xual dating violence.

Prevention starts with helping young people recognize healthy relationships built on respect, communication, consent, trust, and boundaries. CASA, Inc. offers prevention education, healthy-relationship support, advocacy, and resources to help teens and families build safer futures.

Today, on Women’s Equality Day, CASA, Inc. recognizes that true equality cannot exist while women continue to face domestic violence, s*xual violence, stalking, and control.

More than 1 in 3 women in the United States have experienced contact s*xual violence, physical violence, and/or stalking by an intimate partner in their lifetime. These experiences can affect health, safety, opportunity, and well-being.

Ending violence against women is essential to building a community where every person can live with dignity, freedom, and hope. CASA, Inc. is here to support survivors and help create a safer future for all.

*The statistic is from the CDC’s intimate partner violence data. (cdc.gov)

CASA, Inc.’s STREAMS Abuse Intervention Program helps participants explore healthy alternatives to control and abuse in relationships.

Through a 28-week, discussion-based program, STREAMS focuses on the skills that build safer, healthier relationships: safety, trust, respect, empathy, accountability, communication, and stress management.

STREAMS is not anger management or a punishment. It is a behavioral program designed to help participants examine their choices, understand the impact of their actions, and prevent future harm.
