The heat we have been having lately has helped dry things out, which allows Hoary Alyssum to invade areas as it has become adapted to dry conditions on sandy or gravelly soils. It is found in overgrazed pastures, stressed meadows, roadsides, and waste areas.
The best way to identify Hoary Alyssum is by its flowers with four white, deeply notched petals per flower. If you believe you have found some Hoary Alyssum or need help identifying it, please call Blaine County Noxious W**ds department at 208-727-7221 or email us at [email protected].
