The BCSD Board of Trustees is thrilled to recognize Tyler Sant!

The following accolade was submitted by Lori Burks:

"I would like to recognize and honor Tyler Sant, my son's art teacher for the last 3 years. Under Mr. Sant's tutelage, my son discovered a complete and total passion for ceramics. For a student like him, who has struggled with the traditional classroom setting, taking art at school has been a gift to him. Mr. Sant fostered that passion in so many ways - encouraging him to push the envelope, apply for local, as well as nationwide scholarships, and emboldened him to complete an AP portfolio - on which my son spent multiple hours with the help of Mr. Sant by his side throughout the months-long process.

My son not only received two local art scholarships, but he was formally recognized in one of the nationwide scholarships as well and has now even been commissioned to produce work for a local non-profit fundraiser - for which he will be paid. I am confident in saying NONE of this would have been possible without Mr. Sant. My son was in Mr. Sant's room morning, lunch and after school most days of every academic year.

I am so grateful for all the teachers that helped my son get through high school, but I had to especially shout out to Mr. Sant."

The BCSD Board of Trustees is excited to recognize Gillian Hatch and Caitlin Head!

The following accolade was submitted by Stephanie Wallace:

"I would like to recognize the extraordinary efforts of Gillian Hatch and Caitlin Head, SLPs in our district.

Over the past year, Gillian and Caitlin have worked incredibly hard to bring a long-time dream of ours to life. Through their successful grant writing and dedicated planning, they’ve designed and installed weather-resistant Communication Posters at every one of our school playgrounds.

These posters are truly transformative for our non-verbal students. They provide a vital way for these children to communicate and connect with their peers during recess, making our play spaces much more accessible. It’s a huge win for our school and brings us one big step closer to being the inclusive community we strive to be.

We are so proud of the initiative Gillian and Caitlin took to make this happen! See Gillian's email below for more information and a picture of the poster!"
