At the May Town Hall meeting, Haines residents asked a good question: Why is the new Public Safety Building design one story instead of two? Wouldn't two stories be more energy efficient, and reduce the roof size (the bane of so many public buildings in Haines)?
We had the architects and designers go back to the drawing board, and you were right. A one story building makes more sense for Haines.
