🎶✨ ECC Family Dance ✨🎶

We had so much fun at our annual ECC Family Dance on May 7, 2026! Families enjoyed spending time together, as well as interacting with one another. Students danced the night away with friends, while some took a little break from the excitement to enjoy the coloring table activities.

A huge thank you to our favorite DJ, Music That Moves, for keeping the music going and the dance floor full all night long! 🎵

🦋✨ Our Annual Butterfly Release! ✨🦋

Students at our Early Childhood Center (ECC) have been busy learning all about the life cycle of the Painted Lady butterfly! Each classroom receives tiny larvae to care for, watching closely as they grow and eventually snuggle into their chrysalises.

That’s when the excitement really begins! 👀
Students eagerly observe each day, waiting for the magical moment when the butterflies emerge. Once they do, our students help care for them by providing nourishment and a safe space to grow strong.

Finally, the big day arrives… 🌸
Classes head outside to release the butterflies—celebrating growth, change, and the wonder of nature.

An unforgettable learning experience for our little learners! 💛

The ECC families visited the Fire Station in Grayslake on March 6th and March 13th. They learned about fire safety, explored the inside of both a fire truck and ambulance, and toured the fire house. They all received a fire hat and badge before they left. The Fire Station continues to be a fan favorite!

Thank you to the firefighters who hosted our ECC families!!

Community is our theme for March. We invited Kids Dentist to visit. The students learned about dental care using a model of teeth and playing a game to identify good food choices for our teeth. They also saw pictures of the dentist office and had the opportunity to practice brushing. Before leaving everyone received a small "goody" bag that included a toothbrush. Thank you, Kids Dentist!

You should have received a ParentSquare communication earlier this evening. We are posting the same information below on social media and on the PV and ECC webpages. We will send a message in the morning to Prairieview and ECC families regarding the status of this urgent facility issue.

Dear Prairieview School and ECC families,

We are writing to inform you of an urgent facility issue at Prairieview School. We were recently informed of a severe sewer drain issue near 120 that is currently preventing any bathroom service in the building.

Members of our District Operations and Maintenance Department are on-site and actively working with the Village of Hainesville to diagnose and resolve the problem. Our primary goal is to have the plumbing fully functional before the start of the school day tomorrow.

Because the health and safety of our students and staff are our top priorities, we must have working restrooms to open the building.

Please be aware of the following contingency plan:
**If the issue is resolved: School will be in session as normally scheduled.
**If the issue is NOT resolved: We will cancel classes and utilize an emergency day for all Prairieview and Early Childhood students.

We know that waiting for an update makes planning difficult for your family, and we apologize for this sudden inconvenience. We will send a follow-up communication by 5:00 a.m. tomorrow morning to confirm whether school will be open or closed.

Thank you for your patience, understanding, and flexibility as we work to get this resolved.

Estimadas familias de Prairieview y Early Childhood:

Les escribimos para informarles de un problema urgente en las instalaciones de Prairieview. Recientemente se nos ha informado de un grave problema en el alcantarillado cerca de la 120 que actualmente impide el uso de los baños del edificio.

Los miembros de nuestro Departamento de Operaciones y Mantenimiento del Distrito se encuentran en el lugar y están trabajando activamente con el pueblo de Hainesville para diagnosticar y resolver el problema. Nuestro objetivo principal es que las instalaciones de fontanería estén completamente operativas antes del inicio de la jornada escolar de mañana.
