Greetings residents of Hale Center, the Lions Club is reaching out to you concerning the South Plains Food Box program. The food box program is an important part of meeting needs in Hale Center as it provides boxes of food for around 65-70 homes every month. We have recently been informed that the cost of each food box is doubling from $5 to $10 making the total monthly cost $650-$700. The Lions Club is committed to doing everything we can to see that the food box program continues despite the price increase for as long as we can. However, the rise in cost is beyond what the Lions Club can sustain so we are asking for all who feel led to make a voluntary donation designated to financing the monthly food box program. If you wish to make a donation or monthly contribution please message us. 100% of your donations will be put to good use.

If you would like to be a part of the flag program in Hale Center please send us a message or comment below. Flags are put out six holidays throughout the year on 9/11, Veteran’s Day, Flag Day, President’s Day, Memorial Day, and 4th of July. The cost is $20 per year, payment is due on September 1st.

Lubbock District Attorney Investigator Ray Martinez speaks to the Hale Center Lions Club. Ray, who worked for the Lubbock Police as a homicide detective, talked to the club about muder investigations. The Hale Center Lions Club meets Tuesdays at noon at Owls' Cafe. "We serve!"
