Have you ever heard of corduroy roads?
During the early logging Era, when they were building roads in swampy areas they would lay logs side by side in the road bed. This would make for a more stable road, although bumpy.
Many of the old logging roads were built this way.
The roads are all covered now with gravel or black top. They are only visible after the road is washed out.
A couple of places that had these types of roads are Rose City road in long lake, swampy areas. Also the malby hills roads.
What other corduroy roads do you know of?

Stop in to the museum at Eagle Pointe Plaza to see more pictures of our area! We are open Tuesday 10-12 & 1-3
