Hello Hales Corners Residents:)
I was born, raised and have lived my whole life in Hales Corners. I started my political involvement when I was 33 yrs. old, running and winning the position of trustee. My father was very involved in politics, on the State and local level (Founder of Auxiliary Police and 4th of July celebration, in Hales Corners. Man of the Year for Civil Contribution for the four
cities of: Hales Corners, Greenfiled, Greendale and Franklin). He always told me, "If you don't like it, work to change it!"
I came on this Village Board, as a younger man, looking to improve Hales Corners with a vision and a plan for a better future. One of my first commitments (to the voters) was writing a code of ethics, which proved to be, one of the toughest codes, in the State of Wisconsin. Next, I updated the policy and procedures manual for the Village. I spearheaded the drive to implement the tornado warning siren. I also, authored and created the Village wide Safety Inspection Program. Through the years, I have sat on almost every committee and chaired many. They include the following:
*Planning Commission
*4th of July
*Personnel Negotiations
*Public Works
*Multiple AdHoc Committees
*Finance
*Employee Handbook
*Environmental
*Library Board Liaison
*Recreation
*Board of Health
*Space Needs for Library, Fire Department & Village Hall
*Safety Licensing & Ordinances
*Site Selection for the Present Fire Department Location
*Community Development Authority (CDA)
I had the honor and privilege of working under and learning from one of the best, Jim Ryan (former Village President). Under Jim, the committee structure changed to a Committee of the Whole. The Village board presently works under this format. Through the years, there have been many changes in the Village. I'll continue to work to keep our village identity in tact and grow. We encompass only 3.2 square miles. But great things come in small packages! We have all heard how visitors come here, for our Fourth of July Celebration and feel like they have stepped into a Norman Rockwell painting. We are a welcoming, heartwarming and giving Village. Leadership and communication skills are critical to bringing about and implementing positive change, in our community. As we move forward, I want to be your full-time Village President who remembers our past and looks towards a better future, for all residents. I have a plan and need your help, in shaping our tomorrow. As I visit you, on the doors, please share with me your thoughts and concerns about our Village. I will continue to work hard and do more, as Village President, should I have the honor of winning your vote. I'm proud to be a part of this community and if you don't like it, I Will Work To change it! Thank you for the privilege of letting me serve you!
