Whatever Donald Trump, Governor DeSantis or anyone else announces today or in the near future, I plan to pay my filing fees, petition Secretaries of State for ballot access, and otherwise seek the 2024 GOP presidential nomination.

The just relased Dobbs decision is correct and I support it. Likewise, the Bruen decision handed down yesterday is correct and I support it. I am grateful that we have a Supreme Court with justices who follow the law and do not make it from the bench.

The acts of bravery by the Ukrainian people in resisting the naked unjustified aggression by Russian forces are inspiring. The courage of those in Russia who have protested this evil war is humbling. While I wish we would even now send anti missile troops and air power to assist Ukraine, I am pleased President Biden and other leaders of free peoples have used economic and cultural sanctions to try and get some sense into Putin's head. May this abomination end and peace come to those troubled lands.

However the challenges the Texas abortion law turn out, the reported 50% decline in abortions in Texas suggest that financial disincentive work. I renew my call to treat the financial benefit to the woman aborting her child be treated as income and require all providers (including pharmacists) to send in the tax owed before handing over the drugs or doing the procedure.

I recently read an account of the adoption of the 14th Amendment. The Republicans of that day did the best they could to secure the rights of the Freedmen and their families. Many other groups, such as women, had to be left out. Sadly, these efforts came to naught for nearly a century. Then, great progress towards being one nation occurred. We should therefore take hope that we can today do what we can to push the country towards an even more perfect Union even if our fondest hopes are not realized, we do not get everything we want and if the fruits of our labors take time to appear.

I condemn the efforts of Representative Madison Cawthorn and other Republicans who continue to say the January 6, 2021 seditious uprising is anything but a seditious uprising. The perpetrators are not political prisoners, breaking them out of jail is not a patriotic plan, and threats to take up arms against the legitimate government of the United States are treasonous.

I say again that only a good conservative Republican president will be able to get the changes we need in the laws of our country through the Congress. President Biden who is not a conservative nor a republican is not going to get it done.

Like others I am angry that, having made the wrong choice to withdraw from Afghanistan, President Biden did nothing to get our interpreters, female journalists and professionals, and others at high risk of retaliation from the Taliban out of that country and safely to America. His coldblooded commentary on events has been unworthy of his office. I look forward to offering voters a better choice in 2024.

After pondering on last Friday's David Brooks column, I am grateful that America's ability to incorporate new immigrant groups remains strong. I am not sure how to bring Black Americans into that process, but, feel confident we can do it thus ending the ongoing tragedy of racist exclusion.
