Summer Safety Reminder from the Town of Halfmoon ☀️🦺

As warmer weather brings more walkers, runners, cyclists, families, and road work activity throughout Halfmoon, we’re asking everyone to help keep our community safe.

June is observed as National Safety Month — and June 7-12 is Safe Driver Week — so please slow down, watch for pedestrians and cyclists, use extra caution near parks and neighborhoods, and give road crews plenty of room to work.

A few extra seconds of patience can make a big difference for someone’s safety.

Thank you for doing your part to keep Halfmoon’s roads, trails, and neighborhoods safe this summer!

Today, the Town of Halfmoon remembers the courage, sacrifice, and service of the Allied forces who landed on the beaches of Normandy on June 6, 1944.

On this 82nd anniversary of D-Day, we honor the brave men who faced unimaginable danger in defense of freedom — and we forever hold in our hearts those who gave their lives. Their courage and sacrifice helped change the course of history.

Halfmoon remembers. 🇺🇸

🌿🍃🥾 Celebrating National Trails Day in Halfmoon

Tomorrow is National Trails Day — a great reminder to enjoy the many parks, paths, and open spaces that help make Halfmoon such a special place to live!

Following last weekend’s wonderful Town Trail Walk, we’re grateful to everyone who continues to support Halfmoon’s growing trail system.

There are so many beautiful places and spaces throughout our community to walk, bike, relax, and spend time outdoors. Get outside, explore, and enjoy Halfmoon!

🇺🇸 This July, Halfmoon is celebrating 250 years of American history — and honoring the patriots who protected it!

The Town of Halfmoon is launching Halfmoon’s Wall of Thanks — a new community initiative collecting canned goods and non-perishable food items in support of local veterans. Now through July 2, residents are invited to drop off donations at Halfmoon Town Hall.

Every item dropped off is a tangible reminder that this community doesn’t just thank its veterans in words — it shows up for them. Always. ❤️

Heading to Halfmoon’s America 250 Celebration on July 2? Bring a donation along — it’s one of the easiest ways to make the day mean a little more.

As we mark this milestone for our nation, let’s make sure the men and women who served it feel the full weight of Halfmoon’s gratitude. 🇺🇸

🌸🐝🦋 June is National Pollinators Month!

Small gardens can make a big difference. This June, consider planting native flowers that support bees, butterflies, and other pollinators in your yard or community space.

Pollinators play a vital role in our ecosystem — and right here in Halfmoon, every garden counts. Pollinator-friendly spaces such as yards, window boxes, and community gardens give local pollinators the food and habitat they need to thrive.

🌱 And speaking of growing things — Halfmoon’s own community garden is growing too! As we cross from spring into summer, it’s a great reminder that our community is already putting down roots and making space for nature to flourish.

🗓️ Mark your calendars for National Pollinator Week: June 22–28 — a great time to get planting!

🌻 Looking for native plant ideas for our region? Check out resources from the Pollinator Partnership at pollinator.org.
