The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) Registry of Motor Vehicles (RMV) is warning residents about a widespread text message (SMS) scam that falsely claims to be from the RMV and demands immediate payment.

|| What You Should Do ||

- Do not click on any links or respond to the message

- Delete the text immediately

- Warn family and friends, especially those who may be more vulnerable

- If concerned, verify your account only through official RMV (https://www.mass.gov/MyRMV) or EZDriveMA (https://www.ezdrivema.com) websites

|| Important Reminders ||

- The RMV will never send text messages requesting payment

- EZDriveMA does not request payment via text message

- Official RMV services are only available at Mass.gov/MyRMV

- Official toll services are only available at EZDriveMA.com

The Town of Halifax is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Administrative Associate for the Council on Aging (COA).

Reporting to the Council on Aging Director, this position will be responsible for providing clerical and administrative support for senior programs and coordinating transportation services. The Administrative Associate serves as the initial point of contact for the public, requiring strong interpersonal, communication, and organization skills.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent and one to three (1-3) years related work experience in an office environment. Experience working with older adults is preferred. A valid Massachusetts Driver’s license is required. As a condition of employment, the applicant must be CORI certified (background check).

Pay range: $19.83 to $26.86 per hour (Grade 2). This is a forty (40) hour per week union position and is eligible for benefits.

Hiring pay range: $19.83 to $20.95 per hour

Application, resume, and any associated documents must be submitted online no later than 3 pm on Friday, March 6th, 2026. This position will remain posted until filled.
