Residents and travelers within the Town are advised to use caution while traveling due to the extended heavy rain we are receiving. At this time, Railroad Ave at Summit Dr is closed due to flash flooding. There are numerous areas of standing water and some reports of downed trees. Remember to turn around- don't drown.

Drive safe everyone!

๐Ÿš‘๐Ÿ’™ EMS WEEK | MAY 17TH โ€“ 23RD, 2026 ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿš‘

This week, Halifax County E-911 proudly recognizes and celebrates all of the dedicated EMS professionals and volunteers who answer the call day and night across Halifax County.

Whether itโ€™s 2:00 in the morning, pouring rain on a back road, or your tones dropping for the third call before youโ€™ve even finished your gas station energy drink ๐Ÿซ  our EMS providers continue to show up with professionalism, compassion, and commitment to serving others.

Working EMS takes a special kind of person. It takes patience, strength, sacrifice, and the ability to stay calm when everyone else is having the worst day of their life. In a rural community like Halifax County, it takes even more dedication โ€” long distances, unpredictable situations, limited resources, and still finding a way to provide excellent care to every patient who needs help.

We also want to recognize the countless volunteer EMS personnel serving through the fire departments and rescue agencies throughout the county. Your willingness to leave your families, meals, sleep, and daily lives behind to respond for your neighbors does not go unnoticed. Halifax County is stronger because of each of you.

Thank you to every EMT, Advanced EMT, Paramedic, volunteer responder, driver, first responder, and support member who keeps our county moving forward one call at a time.

We see the long shifts.
We see the missed meals.
We see the back-to-back calls.
And yesโ€ฆ we know โ€œjust one more call before shift changeโ€ is never really just one more call. ๐Ÿ˜…

From all of us at Halifax County E-911 โ€” thank you for your service, your dedication, and your heart for this community.

Happy EMS Week! ๐Ÿš‘๐Ÿ’™

๐ŸŒฎ๐Ÿ’™ National Police Week Lunch Celebration ๐Ÿ’™๐ŸŒฎ

Today, Halifax County E-911 was proud to fix a taco lunch in honor of National Police Week as a small token of appreciation for the law enforcement officers who serve and protect our community every day.

From all of us at Halifax County E-911, thank you for your service, your professionalism, and your continued partnership. We are honored to work alongside you each day.

๐Ÿš”๐Ÿ’™ National Police Week | May 10th โ€“ 16th, 2026 ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿš”

Halifax County E-911 proudly recognizes and honors the brave men and women of law enforcement who serve our communities every single day. During National Police Week, we extend our deepest appreciation to all officers, deputies, troopers, conservation police, investigators, and K-9 teams who dedicate their lives to protecting others.

We are thankful for your courage, your commitment to public safety, and your ability to somehow understand dispatch after we spit out an entire paragraph of radio traffic at lightning speed with zero repeats. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Thank you for your patience when we ask:
โ€œCan you spell that last name?โ€

And thank you for always keeping us on our toes with:

๐Ÿš“ โ€œShow me out with one.โ€
๐Ÿš“ โ€œStart me another unit.โ€
๐Ÿš“ โ€œCan you run that again?โ€
๐Ÿš“ โ€œSignal weakโ€ฆ youโ€™re breaking up.โ€
๐Ÿš“ โ€œ10-4โ€ five minutes after the traffic was aired. ๐Ÿ˜…
๐Ÿš“ โ€œCentral I have one going triple digits!โ€

In all seriousness, we are grateful for the strong partnerships we share with every agency we work alongside. From answering the call to standing together during critical incidents, we are honored to support you 24/7.

To all law enforcement officers:
Thank you for your service.
Thank you for your sacrifice.
Thank you for always answering the call โ€” eventually acknowledging the status checks. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Please join Halifax County E-911 in honoring all law enforcement agencies during National Police Week and remembering those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ’™

๐Ÿš’๐Ÿ”ฅ Happy International Firefightersโ€™ Day from Halifax County E-911! ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿš’

Today we proudly recognize and thank all of the firefighters who answer the call day and night to protect our communities. A special thank you goes out to all of our dedicated rural volunteer fire departments across Halifax County. Your commitment, sacrifice, and willingness to leave your homes, families, warm beds, and unfinished dinners at a momentโ€™s notice never go unnoticed.

Whether itโ€™s a structure fire, motor vehicle accident, storm damage, medical call, or the occasional โ€œlift assist that turned into a whole situation,โ€ youโ€™re always ready to serve with courage and professionalism.

We also want to apologize in advance for those 2:37 AM tone dropsโ€ฆ but apparently fire has absolutely no respect for sleep schedules. ๐Ÿ˜… Nothing says โ€œgood morningโ€ quite like hearing the pager go off before the rooster even wakes up.

From the dispatchers behind the headset to the firefighters behind the wheel and on the hose line โ€” thank you for being the backbone of our rural communities.

Stay safe, stay strong, and know Halifax County E-911 appreciates every one of you today and every day. โค๏ธ๐Ÿš’
