๐Ÿ’™ Happy Fatherโ€™s Day ๐Ÿ’™

Today, we proudly celebrate all fathers! The men who lead with strength, serve with compassion, and sacrifice so much for their families and communities.

We also want to recognize and thank all of the dads working today throughout Halifax County, our dispatchers, deputies, firefighters, EMS personnel, law enforcement officers, public safety professionals, and essential workers. While many are spending the day celebrating with family, you continue to answer the call of duty and keep our community safe.

Your sacrifices do not go unnoticed, and your commitment to service is deeply appreciated.

From all of us at Halifax County E-911, we wish every father a day filled with love, appreciation, and pride.

โ˜€๏ธ๐ŸŒญ๐Ÿš‘ Summer Is Coming, Halifax Countyโ€ฆ And So Are the Calls! ๐Ÿš”๐Ÿš’๐ŸŒž

As the days get longer, the temperatures get hotter, and the sound of lawnmowers, four-wheelers, and fireworks begins to echo across the county, Halifax County E-911 would like to share a few friendly summer safety reminders.

๐ŸŒก๏ธ Stay Hydrated
If your drink has an umbrella in it, thatโ€™s your business. But make sure youโ€™re drinking plenty of water too. Heat exhaustion is real, and โ€œI thought I was fineโ€ is a phrase our first responders hear far too often.

๐Ÿ”ฅ Grill Responsibly
The goal is hamburgers and hot dogsโ€”not a visit from the fire department. Keep grills away from structures, and remember that โ€œturning the flames up to maximumโ€ isnโ€™t always the secret ingredient.

๐Ÿšค Water Safety Matters
Whether youโ€™re at the lake, river, or pool, wear life jackets, supervise children, and remember that no one has ever impressed a dispatcher by saying, โ€œWatch this.โ€

๐ŸŽ† Fireworks and Common Sense
If your fireworks require a detailed safety briefing, a spotter, and a backup plan, it may be time to reconsider. Keep a water source nearby and leave the professional displays to the professionals.

๐Ÿšœ Watch for Farm Equipment and Motorcycles
Summer means more traffic on our rural roads. Slow down, stay alert, and remember that tractor races are not an official county-sponsored event.

๐Ÿถ Protect Your Pets
If the pavement is too hot for your bare feet, itโ€™s too hot for their paws. And please donโ€™t leave pets in parked vehicles. Even a few minutes can become dangerous quickly.

๐Ÿ“ฑ Know When to Call 911
Weโ€™re here 24/7, but we do ask that you donโ€™t call to report that itโ€™s hot outside. We already knowโ€”weโ€™re dispatching calls in it too.

As you enjoy cookouts, vacations, swimming, family gatherings, and all the things that make summer special, we encourage everyone to stay safe and look out for one another.

From all of us at Halifax County E-911, have a safe, fun, and memorable summer. We hope your biggest emergency is running out of ice for the sweet tea.

๐Ÿš”๐Ÿš’๐Ÿš‘โ˜€๏ธ

Stay safe, Halifax Countyโ€”and remember, every โ€œhold my drink and watch thisโ€ story usually starts with someone elseโ€™s 911 call. ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ“ž

Residents and travelers within the Town are advised to use caution while traveling due to the extended heavy rain we are receiving. At this time, Railroad Ave at Summit Dr is closed due to flash flooding. There are numerous areas of standing water and some reports of downed trees. Remember to turn around- don't drown.

Drive safe everyone!

As you spend time with family and friends this Memorial Day, we ask everyone to take a moment to reflect on the true meaning of the day and remember those who never made it home.

From all of us at Halifax County E-911, we wish everyone a safe and meaningful Memorial Day.

๐Ÿš‘๐Ÿ’™ EMS WEEK | MAY 17TH โ€“ 23RD, 2026 ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿš‘

This week, Halifax County E-911 proudly recognizes and celebrates all of the dedicated EMS professionals and volunteers who answer the call day and night across Halifax County.

Whether itโ€™s 2:00 in the morning, pouring rain on a back road, or your tones dropping for the third call before youโ€™ve even finished your gas station energy drink ๐Ÿซ  our EMS providers continue to show up with professionalism, compassion, and commitment to serving others.

Working EMS takes a special kind of person. It takes patience, strength, sacrifice, and the ability to stay calm when everyone else is having the worst day of their life. In a rural community like Halifax County, it takes even more dedication โ€” long distances, unpredictable situations, limited resources, and still finding a way to provide excellent care to every patient who needs help.

We also want to recognize the countless volunteer EMS personnel serving through the fire departments and rescue agencies throughout the county. Your willingness to leave your families, meals, sleep, and daily lives behind to respond for your neighbors does not go unnoticed. Halifax County is stronger because of each of you.

Thank you to every EMT, Advanced EMT, Paramedic, volunteer responder, driver, first responder, and support member who keeps our county moving forward one call at a time.

We see the long shifts.
We see the missed meals.
We see the back-to-back calls.
And yesโ€ฆ we know โ€œjust one more call before shift changeโ€ is never really just one more call. ๐Ÿ˜…

From all of us at Halifax County E-911 โ€” thank you for your service, your dedication, and your heart for this community.

Happy EMS Week! ๐Ÿš‘๐Ÿ’™
