๐๐ EMS WEEK | MAY 17TH โ 23RD, 2026 ๐๐
This week, Halifax County E-911 proudly recognizes and celebrates all of the dedicated EMS professionals and volunteers who answer the call day and night across Halifax County.
Whether itโs 2:00 in the morning, pouring rain on a back road, or your tones dropping for the third call before youโve even finished your gas station energy drink ๐ซ our EMS providers continue to show up with professionalism, compassion, and commitment to serving others.
Working EMS takes a special kind of person. It takes patience, strength, sacrifice, and the ability to stay calm when everyone else is having the worst day of their life. In a rural community like Halifax County, it takes even more dedication โ long distances, unpredictable situations, limited resources, and still finding a way to provide excellent care to every patient who needs help.
We also want to recognize the countless volunteer EMS personnel serving through the fire departments and rescue agencies throughout the county. Your willingness to leave your families, meals, sleep, and daily lives behind to respond for your neighbors does not go unnoticed. Halifax County is stronger because of each of you.
Thank you to every EMT, Advanced EMT, Paramedic, volunteer responder, driver, first responder, and support member who keeps our county moving forward one call at a time.
We see the long shifts.
We see the missed meals.
We see the back-to-back calls.
And yesโฆ we know โjust one more call before shift changeโ is never really just one more call. ๐
From all of us at Halifax County E-911 โ thank you for your service, your dedication, and your heart for this community.
Happy EMS Week! ๐๐
