Halifax County E-911 Communications is currently accepting applications for future employment.
Job Description:
Receives incoming E-911 Emergency/ Non-Emergency calls for but not limited to Law Enforcement, Fire, EMS, Animal Control, DWR, VDOT, State Parks, and VSP.
Applicant must possess a professional and positive demeanor, strong public relations skills, and efficient work habits. They must also possess basic computers skills, ability to type, ability to articulate clearly and concisely on the telephone/radio, operate basic office equipment, and maintain confidentiality.
Experience with emergency communications and/or emergency services preferred, but not required. Current NAED EMD certification preferred, but not required.
Applications and background release forms can be picked up and/or submitted at the Halifax County Administration Office located at 1050 Mary Bethune St. Halifax, Va. 24558. They can also be located on the county website under the jobs section. Please note that the background release from MUST be notarized. 🚒 Applicants must be 18 years of age, possess a valid driver’s license, capable of passing criminal/driving background checks, physical, and drug testing.
🚑 MUST BE ABLE TO WORK A VARIED SHIFT, INCLUDING WEEKENDS AND HOLIDAYS.
🚓 MUST POSSESS EXCELLENT MULTI-TASKING SKILLS & ABILITY TO MANAGE STRESSFUL SITUATIONS.
🚒 Must be able to obtain EMD (Emergency Medical Dispatcher) certification within 90 days of employment.
🚑 Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
