⭐Thank you to everyone who joined us last night for our 25th Annual Catfish Tournament. Your support helps our efforts in safeguarding the community!

We had 54 boats entered and weighed in 9 fish.

Winners were:

🐟1st place and big flat: Brent Lewis with a 44.70 flat

🐟2nd place, lady angler and junior angler: Chad Conner with a 42.8 flat

🐟3rd place: Team Lassiter with a 34.15 flat

🐟Special for the 25th anniversary we awarded a 4th place who received a reel. This team also won big blue: Todd Barnes with a 31.35 blue.

We look forward to seeing everyone again next year!🎣

Units operating on the scene of a 2 vehicle MVA earlier this evening. One vehicle was on fire upon arrival. Also on scene were Station 1, Station 15, VSP and HCSO.

As of 5/26/2026 at 9:00 a.m. the burn ban is lifted.

🔥Last night the Halifax County Board of Supervisors issued a county wide burn ban. This is more restrictive than the 4 p.m. burn ban. No open air burning is allowed in the county until further notice.🔥

Last night units responded to a small brush fire on L P Bailey. The fire was quickly contained and extinguished. Many thanks to Liberty Volunteer Fire Department, Town of Halifax Police Department and Halifax County Sheriff's Office for their assistance.
