As the seasons change and everything grows a little greener, we’d like to offer a friendly reminder to our residents that Borough ordinances are in place to help keep our community clean, safe, and beautiful for everyone.
This includes maintaining grass and weeds, managing overgrowth, keeping sidewalks clear of weeds & debris, and properly handling trash.
With everyone doing their part, we can continue to create a welcoming and well-cared-for place we’re all proud to call home. Thank you for helping keep Halifax Borough looking its best! 💚

Naturally unicorns spraying glitter, talking dogs and trees with money would be lovely, but we are hoping for more than pipe dream responses! :)

ATTENTION!!! Please read this entire post regarding pool fills!

Our tanker has returned from having important repairs to it. We will soon be starting pool fills for the year. Please bear with us as we work through around 11 pools on the list that have been waiting for the tanker to return. As a reminder, we will fill pools as best that we can, please keep in mind that our members that are helping with pool fills this year are not only 100% volunteer, but they also have personal lives outside of the fire company.

As we are moving in to warmer weather, it is time to announce our pool fill prices and areas for 2026. Please read this entire post for details.

Due to the current rise in fuel prices this year, we have had to raise our pool fill price.

Our tanker is available for pool fills. Our tanker holds 3,000 gallons of clean water.
Price is $175.00 per 3,000-gallon tanker load of water.

We only use clean water that we get from the pump house in Deppen Park. We DO NOT use water from the Susquehanna River or any creeks or ponds in the area.

The areas that we will be filling pools again this year include the Halifax area (Jackson, Halifax, Wayne, Reed, Jefferson Townships and Halifax Borough) and the Elizabethville area (Washington Township and Elizabethville Borough).

We will NOT be filling any new pools outside of those two areas this year.

We will NOT be filling pools in the Millersburg area this year, those are being handled by the Millersburg Fire Company. If you live in Upper Paxton Township or Millersburg Borough, please contact the Millersburg Fire Company. We do stay in regular contact with the Millersburg Fire Company throughout the summer regarding pool fills.

If you have any questions, or would like to schedule your pool fill, please call the fire station at 717-362-9031. If no one answers, please leave a message containing the following information: Name, Good Phone Number to contact you at, Address, and How much water you need. Please DO NOT send an email to the fire company inquiring about a pool fill, please call the above phone number.

Someone will return your phone call as soon as possible to gather some additional information and work to schedule your pool fill.

PLEASE keep in mind that our members who do these pool fills are 100% volunteer and you may not get your water the same day that you call. We try our best to accommodate everyone as best that we can with your pool fills. Also, a reminder that our pool fill schedule is not only based off our members’ availability, but also off us not being on emergency calls.

The Squad and Chief are currently operating on the Clarksferry Bridge with an overturned tractor trailer. The eastbound lanes of 22/322 will be closed for the duration of the morning commute.

Did you know there are two locations in Halifax Borough, specifically set up for your fur babies' potty?! Bags & Waste Can are provided! All we ask is that you clean up after your pet! Unfortunately, one of these locations is not being cleaned up after and ultimately may have to issue citations to the offenders.
Locations are down by the river & across from the post office.
