Great turnout today for the Back To School Pop Up Pick Up. In one hour, 18 people accomplished litter busting around the Popes Tavern, the HOPS Playground, the ballfields behind HES, the grounds around HES and down to the Halifax Fire Department. New HBC member, Ryan Walsh brought his leaf blower and rake to spruce up HOPS as well. Great job everyone!!

A nice Patriots water bottle and a baseball glove were found by litter busters. These items can now be found at the Holmes Public Library.

In May, John (Sully) Sullivan passed away unexpectedly. Sully grew up in Halifax and had worked for the Halifax Water Department for more than 23 years. He had a quirky sense of humor and called his home Sulifax. Employees of the water department and the water commissioners donated money to the Halifax Beautification Committee to honor Sully.

The HBC utilized those funds to purchase an October Glory Maple tree at the corner of Hemlock Lane and Plymouth Street. Thank you Marc and Tom from the highway department for doing the actual planting!

Thank you Ryan Walsh for supplying and installing the stakes for the tree!

The Halifax Beautification Committee now has a rain barrel in place to help water the Margaret Fitzgerald Memorial Garden. The lovely white barrel was acquired by Ryan Walsh and installed by Scott Materna. Thank you SO much Ryan and Scott!

Litter found today along Route 36 from Oak Street to Garden Road including 83 nips. Last time that stretch of road was litter busted was June 4th.

The Town of Halifax is pleased to announce that the 2025 Annual Town Report is now available.

The report provides residents with a comprehensive overview of Town government activities, department accomplishments, financial information, election results, Town Meeting actions, and key events that occurred throughout 2025. Updates from town departments and public bodies are also included.

Residents are encouraged to review the Annual Town Report to learn more about the work completed and accomplishments made on behalf of the community during the past year.

Pictured here are 178 cigarette butts equating to almost 9 packs of ci******es which were litter busted this morning along Oak Street from Princeton St. to the Pembroke line. From Princeton St to Rt 36, the first quarter mile was litter busted 7/8/ 26, the other half mile was litter busted 5/22/26.
