The HBC Spring Clean-Up a couple of weeks cleaned up several miles of roads and some of Halifax's open spaces. Some roadways saw no TLC. One such roadway is along Route 106 east of Cumberland Farms. If some litter busters could tackle litter busting along the sidewalk side of the road until the end of the sidewalk in the next couple of weeks that would be great. Please attach photos to this post of your Clean-Up! Thank you!

Day 2 of HBC Spring Clean-Up had 18 litter busters participate. Of that number, 8 had also helped out yesterday. So in total 33 people helped litter bust for this Spring Clean-Up.

Another 280 nips were picked up today so the total for the Spring Clean-Up was 1,246.

A 4 cubic yard dumpster was filled. As a very rough estimate, about 2,000 pounds of litter was removed from some of Halifax's roadways and open spaces!

#1 Thank you SO much for the litter busters who participated!! Thank you for making a huge difference!

Thank you All State Waste for the donation of the dumpster for the Clean-Up!

Thank you to Cape Cod Cafe for the pizza for Saturday's lunch!

Thank you Tina Williams of CardMyYard for the use of the beautiful signage!

Thank you Amy Troup for creating other promotional signage!

At least twenty five litter busters thus far have participated in the HBC Spring Clean-Up including l three of Halifax's Selectmen participated. Tom Pratt and Bill Smith came out today, and Jonathan Selig litter busted earlier in the week since he was not going to be able to help this weekend.

The litter busters filled half a dumpster. 966 nips were turned in. Carol Waterman alone, picked up 205 from Pratt St AND then another 90 from Cherry St. The Smith's picked up 103 from Pine Street.

The hardworking litter busters enjoyed delicious pizza which was donated by Cape Cod Cafe.

Please take a look at the map. Only a small fraction of our roadways were litter busted today.

HBC members will be on hand tomorrow from 1-4 to hand out supplies. Please help make Halifax litter free! Thank you SO much!!
