Congratulations are in order for quite a few members of the Halifax Police Department.

Sergeant Caprio started his career in 1999 and faithfully served our community through September 20th, 2026. We appreciate his commitment and professionalism over the past 27 years and wish him the best in this new chapter of life.

In line with Sergeant Caprio’s retirement, Officer DeRoo was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. Officer DeRoo is an 11 year veteran of the department and we look forward to his leadership and knowledge being shared in this new role as our department continues to grow.

The Town of Halifax and the Halifax Police also extended offers of employment to Jeff Sampson and Will Beguerie. Jeff will be joining us from the Berklee College of Music and Will most recently worked for Truro Police. We look forward to these new additions to our Department!

We will never forget. 🇺🇸💙
