Halifax Police, with the assistance of Haverhill Police, arrested Brendan Traub, 37, of Haverhill, following the ex*****on of an arrest warrant and search warrant on Wednesday, May 6, 2026. Traub is being charged with multiple counts of Photographing, Videotaping or Electronically Surveilling Partially N**e or N**e Person(s) and Illegal Wiretapping.
Officer McIntyre of the Halifax Police Department began an investigation in February, after a hidden recording device was found in a residence in Halifax. The device in question was secured and taken to the Plymouth County Sheriff Departmentโs High-Tech Evidence Analysis Team Lab where a forensic analysis was conducted. Following the release of some of the evidence from that device, Officer McIntyre sought and was granted a search warrant for Traubโs cell phone. After the retrieval of Traubโs cell phone, that too was sent to the โHEATโ Lab at the Plymouth County Sheriffโs Department for forensic analysis. Upon completion of that analysis, Officer McIntyre developed probable cause and identified Traub as the suspect. At least seven adult victims have been identified and notified.
After Traubโs arrest by Officer McIntyre and the Haverhill Police Department on May 6th, he was held on $50,000 cash bail at the Haverhill Police Department. Traub was transported to Plymouth District Court on Friday, May 8th where he was arraigned and released on personal recognizance.
This remains an active investigation and additional charges may be forthcoming.
