Today, communities across the nation commemorate Juneteenth — honoring the end of slavery, celebrating Black freedom and independence, recognizing the resilience of generations past, and uplifting the rich history, culture, and contributions of African Americans. It is truly a celebration of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

There’s still time to join us! Until 6 p.m., Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Park & Dream Center is filled with music, laughter, delicious food and drinks, family activities, and the spirit of togetherness that makes this celebration so special.

BEFORE YOU DRIVE ON FOSTER ROAD THIS FRIDAY, READ THIS

Foster Road will be fully closed in both directions, from NW 7th Avenue to NW 6th Avenue, on Friday, June 19, 2026, between 8:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.

The closure supports our Juneteenth celebration at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Center and we’d rather you plan around it than run into it.

Give yourself extra travel time, follow the posted detour signs, and watch for officers directing traffic near the closure point. If Foster Road is part of your normal route, find another way that day.

Once you’ve rerouted, come find us at the park. The Hallandale Beach Police Department is proud to support this event, and a short detour is a fair trade for celebrating with your neighbors.
