🎒📚 Happy First Day of School from HPD! 📚🎒

Everyone’s posting those first-day-of-school pictures, so we decided to join in! Check out our officers showing off their own “first day of school” photos. 👮‍♂️👮‍♀️

But before you post your child’s picture, take a second to think about how much personal information you’re sharing publicly.

Consider leaving out your child’s:
• Full name
• Age
• Grade
• Teacher’s name
• School or classroom information

It’s fun to celebrate these milestones — just remember that sometimes less information is safer information.

Tomorrow is the first day of school for Hallettsville ISD! As our students, teachers, and staff head back for another school year, let’s all do our part to make it a safe one.

🚸 Please slow down and use extra caution in school zones.
🛑 Obey all traffic laws and posted speed limits.
👀 Stay alert and watch carefully for children and pedestrians.
📵 Avoid distractions while driving.

💙 A quick note for our vendors:

National Night Out is all about bringing our community together, and we’d love to highlight community-focused booths and activities! Local organizations, churches, schools, youth groups, clubs, and community partners are encouraged to join us and share what they do with our residents.

To help create the best experience for everyone, priority will be given to community partners and groups. Vendor spaces for selling items will be limited, with a focus on food vendors and a variety of unique offerings throughout the event.

🚨 Public Advisory: Counterfeit $100 Bills in Circulation 🚨

The Hallettsville Police Department has received reports of counterfeit $100 bills being circulated within our community.

We encourage all local businesses and anyone accepting cash payments to use extra caution when accepting $100 bills. Please take a moment to verify the bill’s authenticity by checking the built-in security features, including the security thread, watermark, color-shifting ink, and blue security ribbon on newer $100 notes. Counterfeit bills can closely resemble genuine currency, so a quick inspection can help prevent financial loss.

If you suspect you have received a counterfeit bill or someone attempts to pass one, do not return the bill to the individual if it is safe to retain it. Instead, contact the Hallettsville Police Department as soon as possible with any available information about the transaction or suspect.
