The Two River Sportsman Club will be putting on an ATV/Golf Cart Safety Field Day on July 11th, 2026 starting at 9am at the Karlstad Firehall. This is for students ages 10-15, they must have their online training completed prior to the class and bring a copy of the completed training with them. Students must also have their own helmets, an ATV and Golf Cart will be supplied for the training. They are taking 15 students for the class so if you would like to attend please call Brian Krantz at 701-317-0681.

The fee for the online portion of the training is $34.95.

In Minnesota, the 2026 statewide tornado drills are scheduled for Thursday, April 16 at 1:45 p.m. and 645 p.m. CDT. This obviously will include Kittson County.

If you hear sirens going off during these times you will now know that they are for, please pass on to others.

*** FREEZING DRIZZLE/RAIN CREATING SLIPPERY ROADS ***

MOST OF KITTSON COUNTY IS EXPERIENCING FREEZING DRIZZLE/RAIN TO ADD TO THE BLOWING SNOW THAT WE RECEIVED EARLIER TODAY. THE ENTIRE COMBINATION HAS MADE SEVERAL BLACK-TOP ROADWAYS SLIPPERY WITH SNOW COVER AND DRIFTING IN MANY AREAS.

STATE AND COUNTY HIGHWAY WORKERS WILL BE OUT EARLY IN THE MORNING TO BEGIN THE PROCESS OF REMOVAL BUT YOU MAY WANT TO ALLOW EXTRA TIME FOR YOURSELF IF YOU NEED TO TRAVEL FROM TONIGHT (TUESDAY 3/17/26) INTO WEDNESDAY MORNING!

AS ALWAYS BE SAFE AND DRIVE DEFENSIVELY!!

County road #1 north of Hallock is closed due to a big drift and 2 vehicles are stuck on the road. One in each lane. County plows are not coming out till 5 am tomorrow morning. Be safe and stay home tonight. Blizzard warning now in effect till midnight is the latest update on the weather.

We have a Deputy out checking on vehicle in ditch. He is saying no travel in Kittson County because of poor visibility on the State Highways and County roads. So please for safety for you and others just stay home tonight.
