Thursday, May 21, 2026, we had our Mother's Day Storytime, at 10AM. The children got to hear The Mother's Day Sandwich by Jillian Wynot and Tell Me the Day Backwards by Albert Lamb. Afterwards, they enjoyed a Mother's Day craft. Thank you to everyone that joined us.

Thursday, April 23rd, 2026, we had a Spring Storytime at 10:00AM. The children thoroughly enjoyed listening to the 2 books that were read and the painting craft that was done afterwards. Thank you to everyone that joined us for our Spring Storytime.

Today we celebrate the hardworking, dedicated library professionals who power possibility in our neighborhoods, our schools, and our places of higher learning. As library workers across the U.S. continue to face challenges to their jobs and harassment from bad actors, it's essential we show up for them and voice our support for the work they do every day.

Today marks the start of National Library Week! We mentioned it last week, but for those who missed the post, we're forgiving overdue fines in exchange for non-perishable food donations and we'll be doing this until the end of the month! All library branches are participating -- simply ask at the front desk for more information.

Did you see the proclamation our county commissioners signed last week? April 19-25 2026 is National Library Week, and Wednesday, April 22, 2026 is National Library Outreach Day! To celebrate, the Susquehanna County Library will be doing our "Food for Fines" amnesty program starting on April 19th until the end of the month. We will be forgiving overdue fines for all patrons who return late items during this time and bring a donation of food for local food banks. This goes for books, magazines, DVDs, cake pans, dolls, whatever you’ve got! As long as it’s still in good condition, the library will take it and your fines will be forgiven. They will also forgive overdue fines on items that were already returned. All food donations will be given to food banks local to each library branch.
