Hallsville Fire Department would like to extend a sincere thank you to Harrison County ESD 4 and West Harrison Volunteer Fire Department . Yesterday, both departments provided coverage for our district, allowing our personnel the opportunity to attend funeral services for a loss within our extended fire family.

This act of support and professionalism does not go unnoticed. We are extremely grateful for your willingness to step in during a difficult time, and we know the family deeply appreciates your assistance as well.

Thank you again for your continued partnership and dedication.

Last week Hallsville Fire Department hosted an NWCG S-211 portable pumps operation class. 5 members of Hallsville were joined by representatives from neighboring departments including Woodlawn, Longview, and TFS employees.
A special thank you to TFS for offering this class, lead instructor Matthew Burnett and Chief Burks from Longview Fire for assisting with the training.
We’re excited to put this Wildland training to use and stay committed to learning new ways to better serve our community!

🔥 Fire Danger Alert – No Outdoor Burning Tomorrow 🔥

The Hallsville Fire Department wants to make the public aware that we are expecting elevated fire danger conditions tomorrow due to forecasted weather patterns, including low humidity and increased winds.

Under these conditions, even a small fire can quickly spread out of control. We strongly discourage all outdoor burning, including brush piles and debris burning, until conditions improve.

Our priority is protecting lives and property, and avoiding unnecessary fire responses during high-risk conditions helps keep our community safe.

We appreciate your cooperation and ask everyone to use extreme caution. If you see smoke or an uncontrolled fire, please call 911 immediately.

Our region has now been placed under an Ice Storm Warning, with forecasts calling for 0.5 to .75 inch of ice accumulation with some areas seeing an inch of accumulation, along with 1–2 inches of sleet.

We are taking this situation very seriously and have positioned all appropriate resources where they need to be in order to respond as safely and effectively as possible. With this storm, we anticipate major power outages, downed trees, and hazardous road conditions.

We ask all residents to remain weather-aware and to help us by checking on neighbors, especially the elderly or those with special medical needs, during this difficult time.

If you have concerns or need assistance, do not hesitate to call for help. However, please be advised that response times will be delayed due to dangerous road conditions.

📞 Important Reminder:
If you need emergency assistance, call 911 — please do not call the station phone, as crews may not always be near the station to answer.

Your safety is our priority. Please stay off the roads if possible and continue to monitor local weather updates.

🚨 Fire Safety Notice – This Weekend 🚨

At this time, Harrison County is not under a burn ban. However, due to current dry conditions and increased wildfire risk, we are strongly asking residents to avoid any outdoor burning this weekend.

If you choose to burn despite this request, please use extreme caution:
• Have water and tools readily available
• Never leave a fire unattended
• Ensure fires are completely extinguished
• Be mindful of wind conditions

Please be aware that state firefighting resources have already been staged in the area in the event that wildfires do occur or spread rapidly. This highlights the seriousness of the current conditions.

Your cooperation helps protect lives, property, and our first responders. If conditions change, we will provide updates.

🔥 When in doubt — don’t burn. 🔥
