Keep Haltom City Beautiful Our program board members attended the Keep Texas Beautiful Conference and brought home a second place award for the Governor's Community Achievement Award

The Haltom City Beautification Board was founded in June of 1984 when a handful of citizens went before city council and shared their concern about the image of Haltom City. Council responded by creating the Beautification and Revitalization Board and charged its members to devise programs to improve the community. The group became a Keep Texas Beautiful affiliate in 1986. The beautification program was Keep America Beautiful certified in 1991 and assumed the name of Keep Haltom City Beautiful.

Don't forget! Tomorrow is the day! Join us at 6:30pm at the Senior Center. This is a GREAT opportunity to ask all the burning questions about recycling, homeless abatement, and ways you can help!

We're kicking off the summer with a free workshop on June 4th with Waste Connections sharing about recycling and our very own Community Health Specialist, Jayson Steele, sharing about the city's Homeless initiatives and how they've played a role in beautifying our community. It is with sadness that we share the news that one of our longtime members of the Beautification Board, Birdi Blocker, has passed away. Birdi served on our Board for over 30 years. She was also in the Haltom City Garden Club for many, many years the Northeast Tarrant Chamber of Commerce, and was Mrs. Clause at Christmas on Broadway. She was a dedicated community volunteer who gave so much of her time and talents to our community. She will be dearly missed. Sending thoughts and prayers to her family and many friends.
