📚 SCHOOL IS BACK IN SESSION, HALTOM CITY! 🚌🏫

As students head back to the classroom, the Haltom City Police Department will be out helping keep our school zones safe.

Please remember:

🚸 Slow down and obey posted school-zone speed limits.
📵 Put the phone down. Cell phone use in an active school zone is prohibited unless hands-free.
🚌 Stop for school buses when the red lights are flashing and the stop arm is extended.
👀 Stay alert for students walking, biking, and crossing the street.
⏰ Give yourself extra time. Expect heavier traffic around schools during drop-off and pick-up.

Our officers, including our Motors Unit, will be out monitoring school zones and watching for violations.

Keeping our students safe takes all of us. Drive smart, slow down, and help us start the school year safely! 💙

It's been more than a few decades since our briefings looked like this! What do briefings look like now? How many officers are there? What equipment do they use? How are their responsibilities divided? Which calls get answered first? How many officers go to each call?
