SERVICES FOR THOMAS WHAL

The family of Thomas Whal has expressed that they would like the Legion to be a part of the wake and the funeral.

Thomas Whal, was a Marine, and a member of our Post & the Hamburg Moose.

Tom Whal's funeral details:

The wake is on Wednesday from 3 to 7 at Kazors Hamburg location. We will have a 6pm service as usual.

The funeral's on Thursday at 10 o'clock mass at St. Mary of the Lake, and he will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery in Lackawana. The firing squad is requested to be at gravesides by 11:30am.

🇺🇸 2026 Memorial Day Parade & Ceremony 🇺🇸

We are excited to announce that this year’s Memorial Day Parade will be bigger and better!

After taking community feedback to heart, we’ve recruited a dedicated team to ensure a memorable tribute for our veterans and neighbors.

Event Schedule & Route
• 10:00 AM: Parade forms on Pleasant Avenue (in front of the Elementary School).
• 10:15 AM: Parade kicks off!

The Route:
• East on Pleasant Avenue
• South on Buffalo Street
• West on Main Street
• North on Center Street
• West on Union Street to Memorial Park

Ceremony Highlights
Following the parade, please join us in Memorial Park for a special ceremony:
• Youth Participation: All children are encouraged to join us on stage to lead the community in the Pledge of Allegiance.
• Live Music: Patriotic performances by the Hamburg High School Band.
• Sweet Treats: The Sons of the American Legion will be providing ice cream for the kids in attendance!
