ECLPISE partners you with a solar energy farm; and with no rooftop solar panels required, even renters can enroll!

Recently expanded to all regardless of income, residents across Erie County are able to reduce their electric bills, while promoting a clean renewable energy source.

While I hoped it would pass unanimously regardless of party line, the Biometric Collection Ban bill passed by a 7-3 vote.

I want to thank the 7 members of the Democratic Caucus who all voted today in favor of the bill: Chair County Legislator Tim Meyers , Majority Leader Erie County Legislator John Gilmour, Legislator Jeanne Vinal, Legislator Mike Kooshoian, County Legislator John Bargnesi , Legislator Taisha St. Jean T**d and the bill's primary sponsor, County Legislator Lawrence Dupre.

This will create a safer community for all by protecting a person's most basic and unique features: their face and biometric data.

We were proud to pass a fiscally sound budget for the next year that delivers for the people in Erie County. We were able to secure critical funding for cultural and community organizations that are on the frontlines doing the necessary work. Included in that funding is $125,000 for Access of WNY that does incredible work in my district and for our community as a whole. This budget puts families first while preparing for the uncertainty of the future.

The county’s property tax rate, the amount of taxes charged for every $1,000 of assessed value to property owners, is also falling again to historically low levels – from $3.29 to $3.09 – thanks to increasing property values and new development.
