PLEASE TAKE NOTE AND SHARE!
In order to maintain safe passage on the trail, we need to do some tree trimming. For everyone's safety, Building & Grounds has made the call that they will need to shut down areas of the Lakelands Trail State Park - Hamburg on various dates June – July, 2026.
Work will start on Monday, June 8th, 2026.
PLEASE DO NOT CROSS ANY BARRIERS YOU COME ACROSS, PLEASE DO NOT GO AROUND THE WORKERS THEY CANNOT HEAR YOU IF A CHAIN SAW/CUTTER IS GOING. BE SAFE!
We are unable to commit to a daily schedule at this point, but please... if you see a barrier, do not walk past it! If you see a second barrier, do not keep walking. If you see Hamburg Township Public Safety Department, Hamburg, Michigan USA, you have already gone way too far. Basically, if you see a sign, hear a chainsaw, or see our friendly Park Rangers... turn back from whence you came.
Proposed starting date will be Monday, June 8th, 2026 and starting point will be Merrill Rd. heading West at first. Weather permitting the maintenance will move along the trail throughout the week so look for signage and DO NOT CROSS THE BARRIERS!
