Over the past several months, Kyla has successfully completed her internship with Hamburg EMS, demonstrating dedication, professionalism, and a strong commitment to serving others. We have been proud to watch her grow and develop her skills as she prepares to enter the EMS profession.

Kyla’s journey is not over yet! She is scheduled to sit for her National Registry EMT Certification Exam on July 17, taking the next important step toward becoming a certified Emergency Medical Technician.

It is with profound sadness that Hamburg Emergency Medical Services extends our deepest condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Officer Kristen Yeager of the Central Berks Regional Police Department, who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty while responding to a call for service on May 29, 2026.

Today, we mourn alongside the law enforcement community and all of Berks County. Officer Yeager’s dedication, courage, and commitment to serving others exemplified the very best of public safety. Her sacrifice is a solemn reminder of the risks our first responders face every day while answering the call to protect and serve.

We ask our community to keep Officer Yeager’s husband, children, loved ones, and the members of the Central Berks Regional Police Department in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.
