The state budget we passed this session is sending nearly $3.8 million in supplemental aid to Hamden — and it's already paying off for taxpayers.

Using those state dollars, Mayor Adam Sendroff has revised his FY 2026-27 budget to cut the proposed mill rate by nearly half a mill, with a portion set aside to strengthen the Town's fund balance for the long term.

‼️ BIG NEWS FOR AND ‼️

Yesterday, the State Bond Commission approved $1.75 million for a new Fire Station 2 to replace a building that's been standing since 1912. Also, a planning grant to help The Children's Center expand its behavioral health services for our most vulnerable kids and families. This is what community development looks like: protecting the people who protect us, and investing in the children who need us most.

In Derby, $250,000 for the 30-acre Fountain Lake site for surveys, environmental assessments, road and utility concepts, and an economic impact study. This lays the groundwork to turn an empty lot into jobs, tax base growth, and opportunity for Derby residents.
