The Hamden Arts Commission is a cultural resource and information center, and a focal point in the community for activities in the arts. We present close to 40 programs annually, and also enthusiastically support the individuals and organizations that work to enhance the arts in our town. The Arts Commission has been a municipal department of the Town of Hamden since 1981. It is composed of 15 vol

unteer commissioners, each a Mayoral appointment, who are assisted by one full-time employee, and one part-time assistant, in an office in the Miller Cultural Center. Our address is:

The Hamden Arts Commission gracely thanks everyone who came out last Friday for the Fatman Scoop tribute dedication/concert event. It was an amazing night featuring Scoop's original DJ Knuckles, and legendary Hip Hop performer Chubb Rock. A park bench was dedicated in the memory of Isaac Freeman III aka Fatman Scoop, and it will be installed in the near future at our Town Center Park. It was painted by 16 year-old Hamden resident/student Daven Kaphar. Also, a mural of Fatman Scoop was painted live during the evening's festivities by Rebecca Lequire (LQ). Scoop's children and their mother were in attendance and they appreciated the show of love and hospitality by the Arts Commission and the residents of Hamden. DJ Knuckles had the crowd rocking to Fatman Scoop's many hits, and Chubb Rock commanded the stage with a collection of his hits and Old School Hip Hop and R&B classics.

Thank you to Quinnipiac University and Haven Beer for sponsoring all of our summer concerts, to our Hospitality Tent sponsors, Lynon's Restaurant, Lucky's Star Cafe, Cafe Amici's, and Top That BBQ. Shout outs to Photos By Dexter, and Filmed By Phoenix LLC for great work!
