The is pleased to announce passage of HB 5003 which has now cleared the house and the senate and is off to the Office of Governor Ned Lamont for a signature. This bill has numerous benefits for and we appreciate the work on behalf of our members , legislative team, and numerous legislators who supported this legislation.

We got some very unfortunate news several months ago concerning one of our brother firefighters. Firefighter Jaimie Bonet informed us that his wife,Tracey,had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Our members have created a fundraiser to help support Jaimie and Tracey during this difficult time. Please consider purchasing a t-shirt to show your support! In addition to responding to calls for service, all on duty companies have been out most of the day today shoveling fire hydrants. We check and shovel hydrants as needed after every significant snow storm. There are over 1,200 hydrants in the Town of Hamden. We do our best to get to all of them. We really do appreciate our residents who adopt a hydrant. Establishing water supply at structure fires is a critical task. Every hydrant you shovel is making your house and your neighborhood safer! You will continue to see us out and about this week. Don’t be afraid to say hello!
