What is 4-H?
4-H is a community of more than 6.5 million young people across America who are learning leadership, citizenship and life skills. 4-H'ers participate in fun, hands-on learning activities supported by the latest research of land-grant universities (Cornell University in New York). In Delaware County, thousands of youth between the ages of 5 and 19 participate in traditional clubs, special interest groups, and school enrichment programs.

Be sure to stop in the 4-H Youth Building when you visit the New York State Fair going on now through September 7th. We have more than 60 incredible projects on display from our talented and hard working Delaware County 4-H youth! Judging is in progress and we are happy to congratulate Zoe on her blue ribbon sewing projects! Zoe was also the recipient of this year's Elinor Kellet Memorial Sewing Award! Keep sewing and growing Zoe!

An amazing start to fair week with some finishing touches setting up and the first day of judging youth projects! There’s definitely some amazing projects this year that we’d love for you to come check out in our Youth Building! Stay tuned this week for all the exciting things we have going on! 4-H certainly grows here 🍀

4-H is at the heart of fair week, and there is SO much happening from start to finish! 🍀🐄🐑🐐🐖

Here are just a few of the 4-H highlights to watch for at the Delaware County Fair:

🍀 Sunday & Monday, 12–4 PM — Youth Building exhibit judging
🍽️ Monday, 5:30 PM — Table Setting setup, with judging at 6 PM
🐄🐐🐑🐖 Animal shows happening throughout the week
🎓 Tuesday, 6 PM — Presentation of the Thomson Scholarship in the Youth Building
🍀 Tuesday, 6:30 PM — 4-H Parade at the Track/Grandstands
🐮 Wednesday, 6 PM — Animal Dress Up Contest in the Livestock Show Ring
👗 Friday, 1 PM — Fashion/Textile Showcase in the Youth Building
🐑🐐 Friday, 7 PM — Sheep & Goat Olympics in the Livestock Show Ring
🏆 Saturday, 9 AM — Master Livestock Showman
🔨 Saturday, 2 PM — A very special finale! NYS 4-H will present the 4-H Salute to Excellence Volunteer Award to Lindy Taggart before the Livestock Auction gets underway.

From the show ring to the Youth Building, these kids have worked hard all year for this week. Come cheer them on, see their projects, watch them compete and support Delaware County 4-H! 💚
