My opponent has put out an op-ed calling for the end of “permanent” property tax levies.
That may sound great on the surface, but would greatly endanger funding for our local schools and other services, which often have levies on the books from over 25 years ago whose millage rate has been consistently reduced due to state law.
He’s willing to make exceptions for police and fire departments, but not for schools, developmental disabilities, children’s services, senior citizens, mental health or parks.
This proposal would be devastating to working families in Butler County.
