IMPORTANT WEATHER UPDATE

Due to the developing weather conditions associated with Hurricane Isaias, we are making the following schedule changes to prioritize the safety of our students, employees, and community.

Football Game: Tonight’s game against Lithia Springs High School, scheduled for Friday, October 9, has been rescheduled for Monday, October 12, at 2:00 p.m. at Tiger Stadium. Come Support the Tigers!

Saturday Activities: All Harris County School District events scheduled for Saturday, October 10, are canceled. All district facilities will be closed.

Homecoming Court Activities: These activities have been rescheduled to halftime of the football game against Starr’s Mill on Friday, October 16, at 7:30 p.m.

Homecoming Dance: The dance has been rescheduled for Saturday, October 24, at 7:00 p.m. at Harris County High School.
We appreciate your patience, flexibility, and understanding as we navigate these developing weather conditions. The safety of our students, employees, and community will always come first.

With the risk for tornadoes overnight Friday and throughout the day on Saturday, it's important to have multiple ways to receive storm alerts including Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEAS).

WEAs are short emergency messages sent to mobile phones from cell towers within a defined geographic location. They are received based on current location and are not subscription based.

To check if WEAs are turned on, check the notification settings on your phone.

🌀 Thursday PM Update: Here is the latest on the wind threat with Hurricane Isaias. We are expecting long-duration strong winds beginning as early as around 11 PM Friday, likely lasting through early Sunday morning. Downed trees due to the strong winds and wet soils, as well as power outages are concerns.

From August 19 through September 7, we’re partnering with the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety and law enforcement agencies across Georgia to continue supporting the statewide Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign this summer season.
